Job summary

The National Trust is seeking a Holidays Manager to lead a regional portfolio of holiday cottages across Northumberland and the North East. You will balance commercial performance with high standards of property care and guest experience, while developing a multi-site team and managing wider stakeholder relationships.

The role involves travel across the portfolio, overseeing changeovers, budgeting and planning, and driving improvements in guest satisfaction and operational delivery.

Qualifications

• Lead, coach and motivate multi-site teams with strong communication.
• Flexible, customer-focused approach and ability to work with partners and suppliers.
• Sound financial capability including budgeting and forecasting.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety, compliance and emergency procedures.
• Experience contributing to business plans and overseeing small projects.
• Understanding of housekeeping, maintenance standards and property presentation.
• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and bespoke systems.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel across a wide geographic area.

Responsibilities

• Leading and developing your team, overseeing recruitment, induction, day-to-day management and ongoing development to help colleagues deliver their best.
• Managing the financial performance of your portfolio, including budgets, forecasting, cost control and achieving commercial targets.
• Overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring cottages are well maintained and ready to welcome guests, with consistent standards across the portfolio.
• Delivering a truly positive guest experience, maintaining housekeeping standards, responding to incidents and identifying opportunities to improve guest satisfaction.
• Managing safety and compliance, ensuring operational risks are identified and managed, and that teams follow National Trust policies, procedures and brand standards.
• Working with colleagues, suppliers and contractors to coordinate maintenance, resolve operational issues and support the smooth running of each property.
• Supporting business development, working with colleagues on marketing, business planning and opportunities to improve performance or develop the holidays offer.
