Job summary

St James' CE Primary - Primary Phase is seeking a committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant to enhance teaching and learning across the school. You will cover planned lessons when needed and support pupils of all abilities from the early years to the end of the primary range.

The role requires HLTA status or equivalent experience, robust classroom practice and strong behaviour management, with flexibility and organisational skills to work effectively in a team and raise standards for all

Qualifications

• Must hold HLTA status or equivalent experience.
• Strong classroom practice with effective behaviour management.
• Flexible, proactive and highly organised.
• Ability to work well within a team and raise learner standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
• Support pupils’ learning across the primary range.
• Work with individuals and groups, including pupils with SEND.
• Contribute to assessment, planning and pupil progress.
• Support the wider life of the school.
