Job summary

St James' CE Primary - Primary Phase is seeking a committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant to enhance teaching and learning across the school. You will cover planned lessons when needed and support pupils of all abilities from the early years to the end of the primary range.

The role requires HLTA status or equivalent experience, robust classroom practice and strong behaviour management, with flexibility and organisational skills to work effectively in a team and raise standards for all

We are seeking to appoint a committed and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across St James'.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
• Supporting pupils’ learning across the primary range
• Working with individuals and groups, including pupils with SEND
• Contributing to assessment, planning and pupil progress
• Supporting the wider life of the school
