Job summary

Epsom and Ewell High School seeks a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our SEND provision team. You will work under the direction of the SENDCo and Headteacher to support learning and deliver intervention programmes.

GCSE English and Maths are required, HLTA qualification desirable, with opportunities for training and career progression. We offer a supportive environment within Bourne Education Trust, generous benefits, term-time/permanent contract, and a strong commitment to safeguarding

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent appropriate qualification)
• HLTA qualification desirable. Training will be given.

Responsibilities

• Working as part of a team, under the direction of the responsible Teacher, support teaching provision, development and implementation of learning for pupils
• Under the guidance of the responsible Teacher, facilitate the learning of individual pupils and groups, setting high expectations and promoting positive attitudes to learning
• Prepare, plan and deliver specific intervention programmes, adjusting activities according to pupil response and need
• Ability to demonstrate an awareness, understanding and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children
• Role requires GCSE English and Maths proficiency and evidence of continuing professional development
• HLTA qualification desirable. Training will be given.
