Job summary

Bishop's Hatfield Girls' School is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs and to assist with planning and delivering targeted learning activities. The HLTA will work collaboratively with teachers, SENDCo, and leaders to enable pupils to access learning and reach their potential.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with special educational and behavioural needs.
• Ability to plan, prepare and deliver targeted learning activities.
• Ability to work independently and with staff.
• Patient, flexible and passionate about wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach lessons to cover teacher release time for PPA / Subject / ECT and Leadership time.
• Support pupils with special educational and behavioural needs, both one-to-one and in small groups.
• Assist the class teacher and SENDCo in delivering planned learning activities and adapting them to pupils' needs.
• Monitor and provide feedback on pupils' progress, behaviour, and engagement.
• Help create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment.
• Support pupils' social, emotional, and personal development.
• Supervise pupils during breaktimes, lunchtimes, and school activities as required.
• Liaise with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support pupil learning.
• Assist with preparation of classroom resources and learning materials.
• Support pupils' independence with personal care, health, hygiene, and daily routines where needed.
