Job summary

Reeson Education is recruiting a Higher Level Teaching Assistant for an ASAP opportunity in Eastleigh. This role involves classroom support with periods of increased responsibility and the potential to lead planned activities and intervene with groups as required.

The position is a long-term opportunity in a primary setting, offering more responsibility than a standard TA role and requiring an organised, adaptable candidate who can work under the direction of qualified teaching staff.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification is desirable, although substantial relevant experience may be considered.
• Organised, adaptable and comfortable managing a class.
• Ability to cover classes and deliver teacher-planned lessons or work with groups independently.

Responsibilities

• Delivering lessons and activities planned by teaching staff.
• Providing whole-class cover during teacher absence or PPA time.
• Leading targeted literacy, numeracy or other intervention groups.
• Maintaining positive behaviour and established classroom routines.
• Monitoring how pupils respond to learning activities.
• Providing useful feedback to teachers about pupil progress.
• Supporting the preparation of classroom resources.
• Working collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.
