Job summary

Reeson Education in Eastleigh is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support learning in a primary setting. The role combines classroom assistance with periods of increased responsibility, including leading interventions and providing planned whole-class cover where needed.

ASAP start, long-term contract, competitive daily rate (£100-£120). The successful HLTA will work closely with teaching staff to drive pupil progress and maintain continuity across the school day.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification desirable or substantial equivalent experience.
• Experience covering classes and leading groups.
• Organised, adaptable, able to manage a class under guidance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned lessons and activities.
• Provide whole-class cover during teacher absence or PPA time.
• Lead targeted literacy, numeracy or other intervention groups.
• Support individuals and small groups who require additional help.
• Maintain positive behaviour and established classroom routines.
• Monitor how pupils respond to learning activities.
• Provide useful feedback to teachers about pupil progress.
• Assist in preparing classroom resources.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff.
