Job summary

REESON Education is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a SEN primary school in West Drayton, supporting students with additional learning needs and delivering high-quality education.

The HLTA will plan and deliver lessons with the class teacher, lead small group activities, cover lessons, and contribute to IEP development, while upholding safeguarding standards. This is a full-time, temporary role with opportunities in SEN leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably SEN.
• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
• Ability to lead small group activities and cover lessons.
• Excellent communication, teamwork and classroom management.
• Passion for supporting students with additional needs.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning and delivery of lessons across the curriculum, working closely with the class teacher.
• Provide targeted one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs.
• Cover lessons in the teacher's absence, ensuring continuity in learning and engagement.
• Assist with the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) to meet student needs.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages independence and confidence in students.
• Support students with communication, sensory, and behavioral challenges using tailored strategies.
