Job summary

Supply Desk are seeking a motivated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Andover. You will lead learning activities, deliver intervention programmes and provide classroom cover when required, working closely with teachers and the wider support team to support pupil progress and inclusive learning.

This is a long-term opportunity with competitive pay (£95-£130 per day) and ongoing professional development via Supply Desk,

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience in a Higher Level Teaching Assistant role.
• Experience in a UK primary or specialist school.
• Confident leading whole-class learning and delivering planned lessons.
• Excellent behaviour and classroom management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible, proactive and adaptable to different classroom environments.
• Committed to creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment for all pupils.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned lessons and provide whole-class cover in the absence of the class teacher including using outdoor facilities.
• Support teaching and learning across a range of year groups, adapting to the needs of the school.
• Lead small group and one-to-one interventions to support pupil progress.
• Work with pupils of varying abilities, including those with SEND.
• Assist with planning, preparing and delivering engaging learning activities.
• Promote positive behaviour and create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents and external professionals to support pupils' development.
