Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming primary school in Andover. The role involves leading lessons, delivering interventions and providing cover while supporting high-quality teaching and learning across the school.

You will work with class teachers, support staff and parents to monitor progress, adapt activities for diverse learners and promote an inclusive, safe classroom environment.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience in a Higher Level Teaching Assistant role.
• Previous experience in a UK primary or specialist school.
• Confident leading whole-class learning and delivering planned lessons.
• Excellent behaviour and classroom management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible and proactive, able to adapt to different classrooms.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned lessons and provide whole-class cover when needed.
• Support teaching and learning across year groups.
• Lead small group and one-to-one interventions.
• Work with pupils of varying abilities, including SEND.
• Assist with planning, preparing and delivering engaging activities.
• Promote positive behaviour and a safe learning environment.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to staff.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and external professionals.
