Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking History graduates to support students in a successful secondary school in Ashington, Northumberland. You will gain practical classroom experience and develop communication, research and pastoral skills as part of a supportive education environment.

You will work with teachers and SEND professionals, providing one-to-one and small-group support, with long-term opportunities and access to CPD training through Protocol Education.

Qualifications

• A degree in History or related Humanities.
• Genuine passion for supporting young people.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• A patient, adaptable and resilient approach.
• The ability to build positive professional relationships.
• Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support students one-to-one and in small groups.
• Assist pupils across Humanities and the wider curriculum.
• Help students develop critical thinking, research and communication skills.
• Support learners with SEND, ASC, ADHD and SEMH needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, pastoral teams and SEND professionals.
• Build positive relationships to help students succeed academically and personally.
