Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a History Teacher for a supportive secondary school in Ashington, Northumberland. You will deliver engaging History lessons to Key Stages 3 and 4 and contribute to a culture of aspiration, inclusion and academic excellence.

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent and a History degree are required, with experience in secondary education. The role is full-time, starting September, long-term with potential for a permanent contract, and pays £163.19 - £265.12

Qualifications

  • QTS or equivalent required.
  • Degree in History or related Humanities subject required.
  • Experience teaching History at secondary level.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Excellent subject knowledge.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to raising attainment and achievement.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Inspire students to develop a passion for History and the wider Humanities.
  • Plan and teach ambitious lessons that challenge and support all learners.
  • Encourage critical thinking, analysis and independent enquiry.
  • Monitor, assess and track student progress effectively.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students to achieve excellent academic outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning across the department.
