Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting History Graduates to support students in a successful secondary school in Ashington, Northumberland. This role offers a pathway to gain practical classroom experience before teacher training, with weekly PAYE pay and long-term opportunities.

You’ll work as a Teaching Assistant / Learning Support role across Humanities, helping students build confidence and essential skills in a supportive school environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in History or related humanities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good organisational and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support students on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
• Assist pupils across Humanities subjects and the wider curriculum.
• Help students develop critical thinking, research and communication skills.
• Support learners with SEND, ASC, ADHD and SEMH needs.
• Build positive relationships that help students succeed academically and personally.
