Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking History graduates to support students in a successful secondary school in Ashington, Northumberland. You will gain practical classroom experience and develop communication, research and pastoral skills as part of a supportive education environment.

You will work with teachers and SEND professionals, providing one-to-one and small-group support, with long-term opportunities and access to CPD training through Protocol Education.

Qualifications

• A degree in History or related Humanities.
• Genuine passion for supporting young people.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• A patient, adaptable and resilient approach.
• The ability to build positive professional relationships.
• Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential.

Protocol Education is recruiting motivated History Graduates to support students in a successful secondary school in Ashington, Northumberland. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your communication, analytical and critical-thinking skills while helping young people develop confidence and achieve their full potential.

The Role

As a History Graduate, you may work as a:

• Teaching Assistant
• SEND Teaching Assistant
• Inclusion Support Assistant
• Intervention Support Assistant

You'll gain invaluable experience by:

• Supporting students on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
• Assisting pupils across Humanities subjects and the wider curriculum.
• Helping students develop critical thinking, research and communication skills.
• Supporting learners with SEND, Autism (ASC), ADHD and SEMH needs.
• Encouraging positive attitudes towards learning and achievement.
• Building confidence, resilience and independence in young people.
• Working alongside teachers, pastoral teams and SEND professionals.
• Creating positive relationships that help students succeed both academically and personally.
