Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment is seeking a History Teaching Assistant for a Brent school starting September 2026. You will support the History department across KS3-KS4, run 1:1 and small-group intervention, and help deliver engaging lessons to diverse learners.

Ideal candidates hold a History degree, have experience with children or young people, and are reliable, patient, and well-organised communicators keen to gain classroom experience and train as teachers.

History Graduate Teaching Assistant - Starting September 2026

Are you a history graduate with a passion for working with young people? Do you enjoy problem‑solving, supporting others, and want to make a genuine impact in the classroom? We are looking for an enthusiastic, academically strong graduate to join the team in a school in Brent as an History Teaching Assistant.

As a History Teaching Assistant, you will:
  • Support teaching and learning in the History department across KS3-KS4
  • Work with pupils of varying abilities, including high achievers and those needing targeted support
  • Provide 1:1 and small‑group intervention to help students build confidence and master key concepts
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging, accessible lessons
  • Contribute to a positive, supportive, and inspiring learning environment
We are looking for someone who is:
  • A History (or related discipline) degree
  • Experienced working or volunteering with children or young people
  • Reliable, committed, and patient, with a genuine desire to help students progress
  • A confident communicator with strong organisational skills
  • Passionate about education and keen to gain school-based experience - ideal if you're considering teacher training
