Job summary

The Speedy Group is hiring a Hire Controller in Glasgow for a 9-month fixed term contract. You will coordinate the full hire process, from customer order to delivery and collection, working with depot colleagues to ensure the right equipment is available on time.

Based in the depot, you’ll be predominantly desk-based, liaising with stock teams, drivers and engineers to minimise delays and deliver a great customer experience. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Customer-focused approach to service delivery.
• Ability to adapt in a busy, fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn and develop in role.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.
• Experience in hire, sales, customer service or operations.
• Support delivery of ESG Strategy – Decade to Deliver.

Responsibilities

• Handle customer enquiries and process hire orders.
• Coordinate hire process from initial order to delivery and collection.
• Build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
• Work with stock teams, drivers and engineers to ensure availability.
• Keep customers updated throughout the hire process.
• Resolve queries quickly and professionally.
• Support depot team to meet operational and customer service goals.
• Identify opportunities to offer additional products/services.
