Job summary

Amey seeks a Permanent Highways Technician to join the Bridges Scheme Delivery Team in Polmadie, Glasgow. The role supports the Delivery Manager in delivering highway works, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with CDM, safety, and quality requirements.

The team covers inspections, maintenance and asset management for a large road network, with a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday. A relevant engineering degree is preferred and a UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in highways or civil engineering is preferred.
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations and site management practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Support the Delivery Manager in safe, efficient delivery of highway works.
• Coordinate subcontractors, resources, programme and site activities.
• Maintain site records, permits and project documentation.
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders and local authorities.
• Promote a positive safety culture through briefings and toolbox talks.
• Support incident reporting and continuous improvement actions.
