Job summary

Amey is seeking Highways Maintenance Operatives in Peterhead on a full-time permanent basis. The role covers routine highway maintenance, patching and standby duties with 39 hours per week, typically 8:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday, with occasional night shifts.

You will operate and maintain vehicles including HGVs and plant, ensuring all checks and safety protocols are followed. A full UK driving licence and roadworks experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in roads and/or street works.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.
• Demonstrate awareness of Health and Safety regulations.
• Be self-motivated and able to work collaboratively in a team.
• Winter maintenance experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Undertake various highway maintenance tasks, including patching, kerbing, drainage and related works.
• Operate and maintain vehicles, including HGVs and small plant machinery.
• Participate in winter and summer standby duties, including emergency callouts.
• Prioritise safety and ensure the safety of the team at all times.
• Keep accurate records and liaise with Amey employees, sub-contractors, emergency services, and customers.
