Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an experienced Highways Supervisor for a Goole project. You will oversee day-to-day site activities, ensuring safety, quality and alignment with programme on a major highways scheme.

The role requires supervising live construction, coordinating operatives and subcontractors, and maintaining documentation and site records. A strong focus on health and safety, together with CSCS/SSSTS/SMSTS, is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience as Supervisor/Foreman in highways or civil engineering.
• Experience supervising live construction projects.
• Good understanding of drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Relevant health and safety certifications such as SSSTS/SMSTS/CSCS.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day site activities, ensuring safety and quality.
• Coordinate operatives, subcontractors and trades to maintain progress.
• Work with the site team to plan and deliver construction activities.
• Monitor labour, plant and materials to meet programme targets.
• Ensure works align with drawings, specs and approved method statements.
• Maintain health, safety, environmental compliance and site QA.
• Deliver toolbox talks, daily briefings and safety inspections.
• Identify delays, issues and risks and report them promptly.
• Keep accurate site records including diaries, progress updates and labour logs.
• Liaise with Engineers and subcontractors to meet required standards.
