Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Site Engineer - Highways to take ownership of on-site delivery on infrastructure schemes around Goole. You will coordinate earthworks, drainage and pavement works, set out using total stations and GPS, and supervise subcontractors to ensure quality, safety and programme adherence.

The role offers a competitive salary up to £45,000 depending on experience, with opportunities to develop technical and project delivery skills within a supportive civil engineering team.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
• Experience as Site Engineer on highways/roads.
• Knowledge of construction standards and safety.
• Experience with setting out and surveying equipment.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• CSCS card and UK driving licence.
• SMSTS/SSSTS advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise highway construction activities.
• Set out and survey using total stations and GPS.
• Conduct site inspections for progress and quality.
• Ensure works align with drawings and specs.
• Maintain site records and safety documentation.
• Assist with method statements, risk assessments and permits.
• Support health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Monitor progress and support budget control.
