Job summary

Leicestershire County Council invites you to join the highways maintenance team as a supervisor leading a small team of Operators. Based at Croft Depot or Mountsorrel Depot, you will deliver construction, maintenance and surfacing works to high standards, in line with LCC specifications, and support on-site staff.

The role requires flexibility, including evenings and weekends, with drug and alcohol testing due to safety-critical status.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in NVQ 2 in Highways Maintenance or similar, NRSWA Qualification (Operative) and relevant H&S training records.
• Experience in highways or civil engineering environment and use of IT in work context.
• Knowledge of construction specs, materials, compaction, and safe working practices around plant.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of Operators delivering highways maintenance, surfacing and construction works to required standards.
• Ensure work is completed to LCC specifications and incidents are recorded and escalated.
• Develop and mentor less experienced operatives and adapt to flexible on-site demands.
