Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a Streetworks Compliance Inspector to monitor and enforce the Council’s statutory streetworks and highway regulations. The role is based at Croft Highways Depot, with a driving licence and access to a vehicle essential.

The post involves inspecting works, liaising with utility providers, and applying penalties to ensure safe and reliable journeys. The position may require hours outside standard patterns and travel across Leicestershire.

Qualifications

• NVQ4 or equivalent, e.g. BTEC Higher in Civil Engineering & NRSWA 1991 Supervisor accreditation, or demonstrable evidence of skills and experience in the Job Specification.

Responsibilities

• Inspect activities carried out on the highway network to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and codes of practice.
• Take action and apply penalties to enforce controls where necessary; work outside normal hours and at locations away from base may be required.
