Job summary

Cumberland Council is seeking a proactive Highways Team Leader to supervise a small team of up to five operatives, delivering essential highway maintenance across Cumbria, including patching, drainage works, bridge maintenance and traffic management.

You will lead on safety, quality and on-site performance, applying knowledge of highway materials and maintenance processes, holding a full UK driving licence, and possessing relevant tickets such as CSCS, HIAB and NRSWA.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence required.
• Strong knowledge of highway materials and maintenance processes.
• Certification in abrasive wheels and experience with plant and equipment.
• Desirable NVQs in Highway Maintenance or Team Leadership; CSCS, HIAB, NRSWA tickets preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and organise a team of up to five operatives.
