Job summary

National Highways is seeking a Construction Assurance Manager to join the South East region, based from the Basingstoke office. You will represent the company on civil engineering construction and maintenance sites, ensuring schemes meet time, cost, quality and safety targets while protecting customer experience.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will drive governance, coordinate the delivery programme with supply chain partners, and provide timely feedback on progress, risks and design

Qualifications

• Degree in relevant engineering (desirable; civil engineering preferred) or equivalent highways experience.
• Knowledge of site-based health and safety, environmental and quality management regulations including DMRB, MCHW, Chapter 8, CDM.
• IOSH or SMSTS certification preferred.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management with customer focus and geographically dispersed teams.
• Experience using NEC 4 ECC form of contract.

Responsibilities

• Assure completion of planned works to agreed standards and raise concerns to the Construction Manager.
• Ensure all works align with CDM, HSE, DMRB, MCHW, and Chapter 8.
• Provide regular feedback to Project Managers on progress, risks, and design issues; act as first escalation on-site.
• Liaise with key supply chain partners and coordinate the delivery programme; carry out buildability reviews.
• Maintain liaison with Project Managers and Commercial & Procurement to share Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
