National Highways is seeking a Construction Assurance Manager for the South East region, based in Maidstone. You will represent the company on civil engineering construction and maintenance sites, ensuring delivery aligns with time, cost, quality, safety and customer experience standards.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will coordinate with project managers and supply chain partners, manage on-site risks, and ensure compliance with CDM, DMRB and MCHW.

Competenze

  • Degree in civil/structural engineering or equivalent highway construction experience.
  • Knowledge of DMRB, MCHW, CDM Regulations and Chapter 8.
  • IOSH or SMSTS certification preferred.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and customer focus.
  • Experience on high-speed trunk road/motorway networks desirable.

Mansioni

  • Assure completion of planned works to agreed standards and report progress to the Construction Manager.
  • Ensure all works are constructed in line with regulations and design standards.
  • Provide timely feedback on progress, risks and issues to the Construction Manager and act as the first point of escalation on-site.
  • Coordinate delivery with supply chain partners and carry out buildability reviews on all projects.
  • Maintain liaison with Project Managers and Commercial & Procurement colleagues, providing timely information on Early Warnings and compensation events.

National Highways have an excellent opportunity for a Construction Assurance Manger to join our team in South East region. The Construction Assurance Manager will play a key role in the delivery of National Highways Capital Investment Schemes by representing the companies interests on civil engineering construction and maintenance sites. Reporting directly to the Construction Manager, you will actively ensure construction schemes are delivered in line with time, cost, quality and safety standards, and customer experience is not adversely impacted. This role is based from our Maidstone office.

You will also be required to drive as part of your role and you will need to have no more than 3 points to be considered for this position and during employment.

  • Assuring the completion of planned works to agreed standards and escape any concerns to the Construction Manager, in line with agreed governance requirements.
  • Ensuring that all works are constructed in line with: CDM regulations, HSE Legislation, Chapter 8 requirements, Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highways Works (MCHW).
  • Ensuring Project Managers receive regular and timely feedback on scheme construction progress, risks, early warnings, design related issues, and act as the initial point of escalation for any on-site issues that need to be resolved.
  • Acting as liaison between all key supply chain partners and co-ordinate the delivery programme, ensuring buildability reviews are carried out on all projects.
  • Maintaining good liaison with Project Managers and Commercial & Procurement colleagues, providing relevant and timely information on Early Warnings and Compensation Events
About you.
  • Educated to degree level in relevant engineering discipline (desirable; civil engineering degree preferred) OR proven highways/structures maintenance/construction experience. Experience of working on high-speed Trunk Road/Motorway Networks is desirable
  • Knowledge of site-based processes, relevant legislation, practices and policies for health & safety, environmental and quality management, including good understanding of the DMRB, MCHW, Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual and CDM Regulations.
  • Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) or Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including stakeholder management, with a strong customer focus and managing geographically dispersed teams.
  • Experienced in using the NEC 4 ECC form of contract.
