Job summary

Pertemps in London is seeking a Highway / Infrastructure Design Engineer to join its multidisciplinary team. You will produce detailed highway and infrastructure designs across active travel and road schemes, developing concepts from preliminary to construction-ready packages, and prepared submissions for approvals.

You will work with clients and colleagues to ensure quality, budgets and timescales are met, contribute to drainage coordination, and support the development of engineering solutions

Qualifications

• Experience in highway and infrastructure design, ideally within a consultancy environment.
• Experience producing detailed designs for highways, active travel or associated infrastructure.
• Knowledge of Section 278 and Section 38 approval processes, with an awareness of Section 104 and Section 106 agreements.
• A good understanding of DMRB, Manual for Streets, LTN 1/20 and relevant UK design standards.
• Experience using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, with exposure to tools such as AVT, KeySign or KeyPost beneficial.
• An understanding of drainage design guidance and infrastructure coordination.

Responsibilities

• Producing detailed designs for highway, active travel and infrastructure projects.
• Developing highway designs from preliminary design through to construction-ready packages.
• Preparing Section 278 and Section 38 highway approval submissions.
• Working with Section 104 and Section 106 water industry agreements and drainage requirements.
• Producing highway layouts and design models using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and associated software.
• Applying relevant design standards, including DMRB, Manual for Streets and LTN 1/20.
