Job summary

SYSTRA is seeking an Engineer (Highways) to design road, drainage and active travel infrastructure for diverse public and private sector clients. The role focuses on feasibility through to detailed design, ensuring compliance with standards and effective coordination with project teams.

You will support design outputs, manage tasks to time and budget, and guide junior engineers and technicians within a hybrid work environment in Greater London and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Experience in designing road, drainage and active travel infra.
• Familiarity with standards such as DMRB, MfS, TSM and Local Authority guides.
• Ability to work collaboratively across project teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary through to detailed designs for road and drainage schemes.
• Produce designs (adoptable/non-adoptable) per relevant standards.
• Obtain statutory approvals and provide design support to construction phases.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and guide Graduate Engineers and Technicians.
