Job summary

Meon Junior School, part of the Thinking Schools Academy Trust, is seeking a Higher Level Teacher Assistant (HLTA) on a fixed-term basis until 31/08/2027. You will deliver lessons during PPA, support KS1/KS2 learners, and work with teachers to raise attainment and promote inclusive learning.

The role requires excellent communication, strong interpersonal skills, and teamwork. The school values collaboration within the Meon Way Federation and across the Trust.

Qualifications

  • HLTA qualification desirable or the ability to work towards obtaining this.
  • Experience in Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2.
  • Passionate about inclusive education with the ability to support all learners.
  • Team player with initiative, able to collaborate while also working independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

About The Role

Are you passionate about making a difference in our pupils' lives and eager to support their learning journey in a collaborative education setting?

Meon Junior School is seeking to appoint a Higher Level Teacher Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated and supportive team on a fixed term basis until 31/08/2027.

In this vital role, you will:

  • Deliver lessons to cover teacher PPA time and training
  • Work alongside class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils, promoting pupils’ independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
  • Support individual pupils or small groups to access the curriculum and engage actively in their learning
  • Play a crucial role in both classroom-based and wider school activities

You will be an integral part of the school community, making a tangible difference every day.

  • A HLTA qualification would be desirable or the attribute to work towards obtaining this
  • Previous experience in Key Stage 1 or/and Key Stage 2
  • Passionate about inclusive education with the ability to support all learners
  • A team player with initiative, able to work collaboratively while also demonstrating independence
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills in order to establish strong working relationships with a wide range of people including pupils, staff, parents and external professionals.
  • An excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing
