Job summary

St Mary’s RC Primary School, Radcliffe, is seeking a HLTA to support teaching and learning across KS1 and KS2. You will assist the class teacher, plan and deliver lessons when the teacher is unavailable, and support small groups to improve pupil outcomes.

The role is fixed term until 31 August 2026, 27.5 hours per week, term-time only, with an actual salary of £20,812–£22,988 (FTE £33,119–£36,581). Starting asap, closing date 12 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Proficient in English and Maths.
• Computer literacy with classroom software and digital records.
• Supports learning and wellbeing, reporting to the class teacher or pastoral lead.
• Confident to plan, prepare and deliver lessons across KS1 and KS2.
• Plans, prepares and delivers activities for classes, small groups or 1-to-1.
• Adapts activities to meet diverse learner needs.
• Identifies barriers to learning and devises strategies.
• Clear verbal and written communication for instruction and understanding student needs.
• Strong interpersonal skills with students, teachers and parents.

St Mary’s RC Primary School are currently seeking an HLTA. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Trust at the beginning of a journey of transition, development, and growth within the multi-academy trust.

St Mary’s RC Primary School is looking for a HLTA who is experienced in working as a Teaching Assistant across both KS1 and KS2. In your role as a HLTA you will perform additional duties to a Teaching Assistant. You will support teaching and learning in classes as well as planning and preparing lessons when the class teacher in not available. Where necessary, you will also deliver support to small groups to help improve outcomes for pupils. As this role includes working across KS1 and KS2, you should be confident in working with all ages. You should be an excellent communicator, committed to meeting the needs of all pupils and willing to adapt.
