Job summary

Thames Water Utilities Limited is seeking a High Voltage Technician to maintain and repair HV/LV equipment across multiple Thames Water sites, including Riverside – Rainham, Essex. The role involves fault-finding, safety compliance, and supervising contractors.

You will work 45 hours per week, with a standby rota and potential overtime. A UK driving licence is required, and all PPE and a company van are provided.

Qualifications

• Electrical trade qualifications or equivalent industrial/utility experience in HV systems.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification (or 17th Edition with a willingness to upgrade).
• AP15 High Voltage qualification (ideal) or willingness to train.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair high-voltage equipment across Thames Water sites to ensure reliable operation.
• Inspect and maintain HV and primary LV equipment for safety and efficiency.
• Diagnose and resolve faults with accurate compliance records.
• Supervise contractors and team members during maintenance for safety and quality.
• Undertake SAP training and uphold electrical safety rules.
• Travel to multiple sites to provide technical support and oversee SCADA operations.
