Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Field Service Engineer to embark on High Voltage training and become a technical expert within UK electrical distribution technology. The role involves servicing and installing monitoring equipment on National Grid sites, with fast-tracked HV authorisation.

You will train from Glasgow and travel UK-wide, staying away 3-4 nights a week. Once qualified, you will lead jobs, train other technicians, and contribute to critical UK power network reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Field Service Engineer with electrical focus.
• Willingness to train for High Voltage authorisation.
• Able to travel UK-wide and stay away 3–4 nights per week.

Responsibilities

• Attend High Voltage distribution sites across the UK.
• Training from a Glasgow office and on-site with National Grid.
• Help run jobs once fully qualified and train technicians.
• Support career development of junior technicians.
• Stay away from home 3–4 nights per week.
• Earn a bonus (£70 per night) for staying away.
