Job summary

Protocol Education is working with a friendly and supportive Primary School in Keynsham, seeking a dedicated High Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team from September, supporting children with additional needs and helping them access learning.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups, building confidence and resilience, collaborating with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals to tailor learning and behaviour strategies.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children who have SEND in educational or care settings.
• Strong understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH and Speech and Language needs.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across the primary age range on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Implement personalised learning and behaviour support strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
• Adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs.
• Support communication, emotional regulation and social development.
• Promote independence, confidence and positive engagement in learning.
• Record progress and contribute to pupil reviews when required.
