Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking caring, resilient Teaching Assistants to support children with SEND in schools across the area from September. This is a rewarding role for graduates or those with care backgrounds to help learners thrive and reach their full potential.

You will provide 1:1 and small group support, work with teachers and SENDCOs, and help pupils develop confidence, independence and social skills in a safe and inclusive setting.

Qualifications

• Experience or interest in supporting children with SEND is beneficial.
• Patience, empathy and resilience when working with young learners.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Supporting students inside and outside the classroom.
• Helping children develop confidence, independence and social skills.
• Promoting emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour.
• Adapting learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Supporting communication, sensory and regulation strategies.
• Working alongside teachers, SENDCOs and external professionals.
• Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment where pupils can succeed.
