Job summary

Protocol Education Limited is seeking an enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Keynsham primary school. You will support young children with additional needs, focusing on the EYFS framework to build confidence, independence and a love of learning.

Working closely with the class teacher and SEND team, you will create calm, engaging activities, foster social and communication development, and help children reach their individual goals in a nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with SEND, SEMH, complex needs, or additional learning needs.
• Understands the EYFS framework and child development principles.
• Patient, resilient and able to remain calm under pressure.
• Nurturing and child-centred approach.

Responsibilities

• Support children with additional needs on a 1:1 basis and within small groups.
• Help create a calm, positive, and engaging learning environment.
• Encourage children's social, emotional, and communication development.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to adapt activities and learning opportunities.
• Support children in developing confidence, independence, and positive relationships.
• Use patience, creativity, and consistency to help children achieve their individual goals.
• Celebrate progress and milestones.
