Job summary

Horizon Teachers is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of SEN across a warm, inclusive school in Croydon. The role is full-time and starts ASAP, with a contract running until July 2027.

You will work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver tailored learning and care, providing 1:1 and small group support to help pupils access the curriculum while promoting wellbeing and independence.

Qualifications

• Has experience working with children or young people with SEN (school-based or transferable experience welcomed).
• Patient, empathetic and resilient with a genuine passion for SEN education.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team and follow guidance from teachers and therapists.
• Proactive, reliable and committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
• Holds or is willing to work towards relevant SEN or childcare qualifications.

Responsibilities

The school is committed to helping every child achieve their full potential in a supportive and well-structured environment throughout Primary and Secondary age.

They are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team and support pupils across the school. This position starts ASAP until July 2027 on a full-time basis.

The school caters for children with a range of SEND, including ASD, ADHD, communication difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs, so having experience within a similar position is very desirable.
