Job description

Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Full Time 37.5 Hours per Week

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a specialist independent school in Esher, supporting children and young people aged 7-17 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference within a therapeutic learning environment where every pupil is valued, supported and encouraged to achieve their potential.

About the School

This specialist setting provides a nurturing and structured environment for pupils who may have experienced significant barriers to learning in mainstream education. Small class sizes, high levels of support and a trauma-informed approach enable students to develop confidence, build positive relationships and re-engage with education successfully.

The school works collaboratively with families, therapists and external professionals to provide holistic support, helping young people develop academically, emotionally and socially. Through both academic and vocational pathways, pupils are supported to achieve qualifications, build independence and prepare for their futures
