Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd in Purfleet, Essex, is seeking an experienced HGV/Van Technician to join a busy workshop team. You will service, maintain and repair HGVs, trailers and light commercial vehicles to maximise fleet availability.

The role offers Monday to Friday 10-hour shifts with overtime paid at time and a half and optional Saturday morning overtime; long-term opportunity with a growing business and a tidy workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Technician, Van Technician or LCV Technician.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience working on HGVs, trailers, or light commercial vehicles.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a workshop team.
• Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs, trailers, and light commercial vehicles
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
• Complete vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance
• Prepare vehicles for MOT testing
• Complete workshop documentation and service records accurately
• Maintain a safe and tidy working environment
• Provide breakdown support when required (rare occasions)

HGV / Van Technician

Location: Purfleet, Essex

Salary: £20.00 per hour (Negotiable DOE)

Our client operating a mixed fleet of HGVs, trailers, vans, and specialist vehicles are seeking an experienced HGV / Van Technician to join their workshop team, carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs to maximise fleet availability.

Job Overview
