Job summary

Perfect Placement UK Ltd is seeking a HGV Trailer Technician for a Southampton area automotive transport solutions company. Salary up to £44,000 with an OTE around £50,000, and working hours from 8:30 to 17:00 with some flexibility.

Benefits include private healthcare, pension, life assurance (3x salary), and 23+ days holiday plus BH. Duties include inspections, servicing, repairs, MOT prep, and coordinating with Service/Parts.

Qualifications

• Experience with semi-trailers or heavy vehicles.
• IRTEC accreditation is desirable but not essential.
• Welding certification is advantageous.
• Experience with axle manufacturers BPW, SAF and JOST.
• Tail lift and double-deck maintenance experience preferred.
• EBS diagnostics experience (Knorr Bremse, Haldex, WABCO) advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine inspections, servicing, and repairs on HGV trailers.
• Completion of Job Sheets and Documentation.
• Liaising with the Service Department and Parts Department.
• Completion of MOT preparation.

We are currently seeking a HGV Trailer Technician on behalf of our Client, an Automotive transport solutions company based in the Southampton area.

The successful HGV Trailer Technician can expect a salary of up to £44000 with OTE of circa £50000 and working hours of Monday to Friday 8:30-5 (some flexibility).

Requirements

• Experience working with semi-trailers or heavy vehicles.
• Industry qualifications (City & Guilds or NVQs).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
• IRTEC accreditation. Desired, but not essential.

• Welding certification.
• Experience with axle manufacturers (BPW, SAF, JOST).
