Job summary

Red Sky Personnel Ltd is recruiting an experienced HGV Technician for a role at Bristol Airport. This position involves a mix of workshop and airside duties, focusing on inspection, maintenance, diagnosis and repair of a range of HGVs and related equipment.

The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, with shifts starting at 06:30 or 07:30, and will contribute to a high standard of safety and efficiency in a busy engineering team.

Qualifications

• HGV Level 2 qualification required.
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Minimum 2 years post-apprenticeship experience in HGV environment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, servicing and repairs on HGVs and related equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and identify required repairs and parts.
• Perform inspections, brake tests and smoke tests as part of maintenance.
• Accurately record completed work, inspections and parts used.
• Keep vehicles safe, reliable and compliant with procedures.

Are you an experienced HGV Mechanic / HGV Technician looking for a Monday-to-Friday role with an excellent salary and strong benefits package working at the Airport?

We are looking for a skilled HGV Technician to join an established engineering team based at Bristol Airport. This is a varied workshop and airside-based role where you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, diagnosis and repair of a range of specialist vehicles and equipment.

HGV Techncian / HGV Mechanic The Role

As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring vehicles and equipment are maintained to a high standard and remain safe, reliable and operational.

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, servicing and repairs.
• Diagnosing mechanical faults and identifying required repairs and parts.
• Carrying out inspections, brake tests and smoke tests.
• Reporting defects and ensuring repairs are completed safely and efficiently.
• Working on a range of HGVs, specialist vehicles and plant equipment.
• Accurately recording completed work, inspections and parts used.
• Keeping management informed of additional repairs, parts requirements and vehicles off the road.
• Working closely with stores and colleagues to ensure parts are available and correctly recorded.
• Completing all relevant paperwork and timesheets accurately.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
• Working in accordance with Health & Safety procedures and company standards.

HGV Techncian / HGV Mechanic About You

We are looking for an experienced HGV Technician / Mechanic who has a strong mechanical background and enjoys diagnosing and solving technical problems.

Essential requirements:

• HGV Level 2 qualification.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Minimum 2 years' experience post-apprenticeship.
• Proven experience working within an HGV environment.
• Strong mechanical and fault-finding skills.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
• Reliable, organised and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Desirable:

• HGV Level 3 qualification.
• Experience working on plant, specialist vehicles or similar equipment.
