Job summary

Pertemps Dudley West Brom Perms is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join their busy workshop in Dudley, West Midlands. You will service, maintain and repair HGVs and commercial vehicles, diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults and performing MOT preparation.

Join a modern, well-equipped workshop with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and teamwork. An NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is required, along with DVSA knowledge and a full UK driving licence

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Proven experience working as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience working on a range of heavy goods vehicles and trailers.
• Good understanding of DVSA regulations and vehicle compliance standards.
• Full UK driving licence preferred (Class 1 or Class 2 licence advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
• Perform routine inspections, safety checks, and preventative maintenance.
• Complete MOT preparation and ensure vehicles meet DVSA standards.
• Use diagnostic equipment to assist with fault finding and repairs.
• Accurately complete job cards, service records, and workshop documentation.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of the workshop team.

HGV Technician

Location: Dudley, West Midlands

Pay Rate: £22.00 - £30.00 per hour (DOE)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am 5:30pm

Our client, a well-established commercial vehicle maintenance provider in the Dudley area, is currently seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join their busy workshop team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician to work on a modern fleet of heavy goods vehicles within a professional, well-equipped workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles.
