Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd. is seeking an experienced HGV Technician in Walton-on-Thames to service a fleet of around 50 lorries and trailers. The role includes preventative maintenance, defect repairs, and general mechanical work in a supportive, family-style team environment.

The position offers a 40-hour week (Mon-Fri) with overtime opportunities and full training on heavy and specialist equipment. Tools are provided by the company, with basic tools required from you.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an HGV mechanic or fleet technician.
• Air tech experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Class 1 or Class 2 licences desirable but not essential.
• Owns basic tools necessary for mechanical work.
• Reliable, diligent, and motivated to develop within a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining a fleet of approximately 50 lorries, mainly Volvos and DAFs, alongside trailers
• Conducting preventative maintenance inspections and defect repairs on HGVs and trailers
• Performing general mechanical repairs to ensure vehicles remain in optimal condition
• Ensuring efficient workshop operations through teamwork and communication
• Supporting business growth by mentoring less experienced mechanics when needed
• Using personal basic tools for daily tasks, with the company's specialist tools available for heavier work
