Job summary

Perfect Placement UK Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a leading UK commercial vehicle specialist for an HGV Technician role based in Trafford Park, near Manchester.

The successful candidate will diagnose faults, service and repair a wide range of commercial vehicles, and complete warranty and contract documentation. NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance is required, with a full UK driving licence preferred.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
• Proven experience diagnosing, servicing, and repairing commercial vehicles.
• Up-to-date manufacturer training and strong technical understanding.

Responsibilities

• Conduct maintenance and repairs on a wide range of commercial vehicles and trailers.
• Diagnose faults efficiently, perform tests, and complete high-quality repairs.
• Manage all related documentation for warranty, retail, and contract work.
• Carry out preventative maintenance to reduce customer downtime.
• Support colleagues and undertake additional tasks as directed by the Shift Supervisor.

Duties of the HGV Technician

Requirements of the HGV Technician

• Organised, methodical approach with excellent attention to detail
