Job summary

Contek Recruitment Solutions Ltd is partnering with a leading waste and resource management company in the UK to recruit an experienced HGV Technician. You will perform maintenance and repair tasks on LGV and waste vehicles in a busy workshop, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

The role offers a competitive salary of £45,000 to £48,000 with 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, pension, life insurance, and a discretionary bonus scheme.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Experience as an LGV Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence and LGV Class 2 entitlement.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair tasks on LGV and waste vehicles in the workshop.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and statutory requirements.
• Use tools, equipment and PPE, reporting unsafe conditions.
• Accurately complete paperwork, worksheets and records.
• Participate in ongoing training to maintain competency and skills.
• Ensure operations comply with quality and environmental management systems.
• Work as part of a team and independently when required.
• Maintain professionalism with good timekeeping and flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair tasks on LGV and waste vehicles within their busy workshop.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and statutory requirements.
• Use appropriate tools, equipment, and PPE, reporting any unsafe conditions.
• Accurately complete all relevant paperwork, worksheets, and records.
• Participate in ongoing training to maintain competency and skills.

Skills, Experience, and Education

• Communication: Strong communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and management at all levels.
• Knowledge/Expertise: Previous experience as an LGV Mechanic, experience with waste vehicles, full UK driving licence, and LGV Class 2 driving entitlement.
• Innovation: Self-motivated with the ability to work within defined timescales and adapt to new challenges.
