Job summary

QS Recruitment is seeking an experienced HGV technician in Leicester to join a dynamic fleet maintenance team. The role focuses on servicing, maintaining and repairing HGVs to high standards, with fault diagnostics and safety inspections integral to daily tasks.

The position offers a temporary contract with ongoing potential to go permanent. 40-hour weeks, occasional weekend overtime, and an immediate start for the right candidate are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Full HGV technician qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Experience working with HGVs or commercial vehicles.
• Experience in tail lift, fridge, and bodywork repairs is advantageous.
• Valid UK driving licence (HGV licence desirable but not essential).
• Strong understanding of HGV maintenance, health & safety regulations, and transport legislation.
• Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks.
• Good communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.

HGV technician required in Leicester!

We are currently seeking an experienced HGV technician to join our client’s team.

You will play a vital role in ensuring the fleet remains safe, effective, roadworthy, compliant, and operational.

In this role, you will be:

• Carrying out service, maintenance, and repair work on HGVs to the highest standards.
• Diagnosing and correct vehicle faults using modern diagnostic equipment.
• Performing safety inspections, MOT preparations, and routine maintenance.
• Ensuring all work is completed efficiently, safely, and in line with manufacturer standards.
• Maintaining a clean and organised working environment.

Duration: Ongoing temp to perm position with an immediate start for the right candidate.

Contract Type: Temporary

Hourly Rate: This role pays £40,000 to £44,000 p/a.

Working Hours: You will be working Monday to Friday day shifts, 40 hours per week.Sometimes weekend overtime will be required.
