Job summary

Kemp Recruitment Ltd is seeking an HGV Technician for a days-based role in Walthamstow. The position involves servicing, inspecting and repairing HGVs to DVSA standards, with opportunities for development and ongoing training.

You will diagnose faults, perform preventative maintenance and maintain detailed service records. The ideal candidate holds NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent, has strong mechanical/diagnostic skills, and a valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• Experience working on HGVs or commercial vehicles.
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
• Proactive approach to preventative maintenance.
• Strong understanding of vehicle safety and compliance.
• Full UK driving licence.
• HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, inspections and repairs across the HGV fleet.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
• Complete preventative maintenance to minimise vehicle downtime.
• Ensure all vehicles are maintained in line with DVSA safety and compliance standards.
• Assist with MOT preparation and compliance checks.
• Complete accurate maintenance, service and repair records.
• Identify potential issues and recommend appropriate repairs.
• Maintain a high standard of health and safety at all times.
• Work as part of a professional and supportive workshop team.

About You

• A full UK driving licence
