Job summary

Euro Projects Recruitment Ltd. is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to maintain a fleet in Berkshire. You will carry out servicing, repairs and fault diagnosis to maximise vehicle availability, ensuring roadworthiness and reliability.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:30pm, with alternate Saturdays 7:00am – 11:30am. Salary is negotiable and includes pension and benefits for a busy workshop team.

Qualifications

• Experienced HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Vehicle Technician with heavy vehicle maintenance background.
• HGV qualification such as City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3, or substantial relevant experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems; Class 2 HGV licence and tachograph a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections, servicing, repairs and fault diagnosis on HGVs and related systems.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT tests and complete warranty work where required.
• Identify defects, maintain accurate records and complete service documentation.
• Follow health and safety procedures and use PPE.
• Support apprentices and colleagues, with potential roadside assist and cover at other sites.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy workshop team, carrying out servicing, repairs and fault diagnosis to maximise vehicle availability and minimise downtime.

This HGV Technician job will suit:

• An experienced HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Vehicle Technician with a strong background in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Someone with an HGV maintenance qualification, such as City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or substantial relevant experience.
• A technically capable individual with knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, ideally holding a Class 2 HGV licence and digital tachograph card.
• A reliable, safety-conscious team player who can work independently, solve problems and support apprentices where required.

This HGV Technician job will involve:

• Carrying out inspections, servicing, repairs and fault diagnosis on HGVs and associated vehicle systems.
• Preparing vehicles for MOT tests and completing warranty work where required.
• Identifying and reporting defects, maintaining accurate job records and completing relevant service documentation.
• Following health and safety procedures, using the correct PPE and reporting any incidents or near misses.
• Supporting apprentices and colleagues, with occasional roadside assistance and cover at other sites when required.

This HGV Technician job is based in Berkshire and is commutable from Reading, Newbury, Thatcham, Basingstoke, Theale and surrounding areas.
