Job summary

Euro-Projects Recruitment Ltd. is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy workshop in Berkshire. You will service, repair and fault diagnose HGVs, ensuring vehicles remain safe and roadworthy while maintaining thorough records.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy vehicle maintenance, an appropriate HGV maintenance qualification, and the ability to work independently or with apprentices. Working hours are Monday to Friday, with alternate Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Experience as HGV Technician or Vehicle Technician with heavy vehicle maintenance.
• HGV maintenance qualification such as City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems; Class 2 HGV licence and tachograph card.
• Reliable, safety-conscious team player who can work independently.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out inspections, servicing, repairs and fault diagnosis on HGVs and related systems.
• Preparing vehicles for MOT tests and completing warranty work; maintaining accurate records.
• Following health and safety procedures and using PPE; reporting incidents or near misses.
• Supporting apprentices and colleagues, with occasional roadside assistance and cover at other sites when required.

This HGV Technician job will suit:

• An experienced HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Vehicle Technician with a strong background in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Someone with an HGV maintenance qualification, such as City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or substantial relevant experience.
• A technically capable individual with knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, ideally holding a Class 2 HGV licence and digital tachograph card.
• A reliable, safety-conscious team player who can work independently, solve problems and support apprentices where required.

This HGV Technician job will involve:

• Carrying out inspections, servicing, repairs and fault diagnosis on HGVs and associated vehicle systems.
• Preparing vehicles for MOT tests and completing warranty work where required.Identifying and reporting defects, maintaining accurate job records and completing relevant service documentation.
• Following health and safety procedures, using the correct PPE and reporting any incidents or near misses.
• Supporting apprentices and colleagues, with occasional roadside assistance and cover at other sites when required.
