Job summary

Euro Projects Recruitment Ltd. is seeking an experienced HGV Technician for a Gloucestershire workshop. You will service, repair and fault-diagnose heavy goods vehicles to keep the fleet safe and available for operation.

The role offers a negotiable salary plus pension and benefits, with Monday to Friday hours and occasional Saturdays. A strong team player with attention to safety and quality is essential.

Qualifications

• HGV maintenance qualification or substantial relevant experience.
• Strong background in servicing, repairs and fault diagnosis of heavy vehicles.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections, servicing, repairs and fault diagnosis on HGVs.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT tests and perform warranty work where applicable.
• Identify and report defects and maintain accurate service records.
• Follow health and safety procedures and use PPE appropriately.
• Support apprentices and colleagues, with occasional roadside assistance and cover at other sites.

• Working hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:30pm, plus alternate Saturdays, 7:00am - 11:30am

This is a great opportunity for an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy workshop team, carrying out servicing, repairs and fault diagnosis to maximise vehicle availability and minimise downtime.

This HGV Technician job will suit:

• An experienced HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Vehicle Technician with a strong background in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Someone with an HGV maintenance qualification, such as City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or substantial relevant experience.
• A technically capable individual with knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, ideally holding a Class 2 HGV licence and digital tachograph card.
• A reliable, safety-conscious team player who can work independently, solve problems and support apprentices where required.

This HGV Technician job will involve:

• Carrying out inspections, servicing, repairs and fault diagnosis on HGVs and associated vehicle systems.
• Preparing vehicles for MOT tests and completing warranty work where required.
• Identifying and reporting defects, maintaining accurate job records and completing relevant service documentation.
• Following health and safety procedures, using the correct PPE and reporting any incidents or near misses.
• Supporting apprentices and colleagues, with occasional roadside assistance and cover at other sites when required.

This HGV Technician job is based in Gloucestershire and is commutable from Cheltenham, Gloucester, Bishops Cleeve, Tewkesbury and surrounding areas.
