NMS Recruit Ltd is seeking a qualified HGV Technician for a Reading workshop. The role offers a salary of up to £50,000 per year, with overtime paid at time and a half and opportunities for career progression.

You will service, maintain and repair heavy goods vehicles, perform diagnostics, and ensure compliance with safety and DVSA standards while contributing to a team-focused workshop environment.

Formación

• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (NVQ/City & Guilds/IMI) is required.
• Proven experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or HGV Fitter.
• Experience carrying out diagnostic work, servicing and repairs on commercial vehicles.
• Full UK driving licence covering the relevant vehicle classes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out routine servicing, preventative maintenance and safety inspections on HGVs.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Complete major and minor repairs to a high standard within agreed timescales.
• Identify worn or defective components in line with DVSA standards.
• Undertake wheel alignment and tyre fitting as required.
• Accurately complete job cards, service records and supporting warranty documentation.
• Work closely with the workshop team to diagnose faults and plan repairs.
• Maintain a clean, organised working environment and follow health and safety procedures.

We are recruiting a qualified HGV Technician to join a commercial vehicle workshop in Reading. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician looking for ongoing training, career progression and a competitive package.

You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy goods vehicles, ensuring they remain safe, compliant and ready for the road.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, preventative maintenance and safety inspections on HGVs.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.
