Job summary

RE Personnel is seeking an experienced HGV Technician for a full-time permanent role in the Cheltenham area (Bishops Cleeve). You will carry out inspections, servicing and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles, diagnosing faults across hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems, and ensuring safety compliance.

You will work in a supportive workshop, mentor apprentices, and benefit from ongoing training, career development opportunities, a stable long-term position, and a competitive benefits

Qualifications

• City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 qualification, or equivalent experience in HGV maintenance and repair.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities across hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Good knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation and workshop best practices.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out inspections, servicing and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles to industry standards.
• Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults.
• Preparing vehicles for MOT testing and ensuring full compliance with safety regulations.
• Completing maintenance records, service documentation and job cards accurately.
• Supporting apprentice technicians and contributing to an efficient and productive workshop environment.
